As Salt Lake City’s Downtown Alliance was approaching it’s 25th year anniversary, they began reflecting on the influence they had on the city throughout the years. When the DTA was founded, downtown Salt Lake was a decrepit place that was largely avoided unless you were at work. Storefronts were boarded up, the streets were overgrown, and there really just weren’t that many people around. This is when the Alliance was founded.
Fast forward 25 years and the downtown area couldn’t be more different. New buildings, vibrant colors, and masses of people attending any number of concerts, festivals, or farmers markets.
The DTA came to us (and Full Collective Media) with the idea to make a film about the transformation of downtown Salt Lake City over the past 25 years and how the DTA’s involvement, as well as the numerous passionate people involved, have made this city great.
