We love our DJI Ronin. The world of 3-axis gimbals has made what used to be impossible shots now very attainable. However, they can be tricky to balance at times. When we got the Blackmagic Ursa Mini recently (which, it turns out, isn’t mini at all), we weren’t sure if the camera would fit on it. After some testing, it was obvious that with the V-Mount battery on the back of the camera, it was way too long to fit. It was obvious that we had to power the camera somehow without having to have a battery on it.
Hence: the solution. Power the camera via the Ronin’s built-in P-Tap, and get an adapter cable to run right into the Ursa Mini’s XLR. Here’s how we did it:
